charles came back from egypt last night and we had the most wonderful jap buffet dinner ever! the highlight really was the sweet juicy alaskan snow crab legs. i know the adjectives "sweet" and "juicy" aren't synonymous with seafood but those are seriously the best fitting words. pictures below, you be the judge. its really good to have charles back (:

(: such a happy photo. basically i was trying to understand math when i spotted my camera lying on the table and i realised that holy crap! i have hockey finals photos. then i thought damn, i have to upload then, so i turned on the computer and ive been here for the past hour when i have an extremly difficult math paper to sit for in 3 hours. anyway, i cant really be bothered because apparently, the math paper is worst than chemistry and i studided my brains out for chemistry and still barely did a question. i dont understand why vjc sets papers like that. nothing a fraction of vjc hardness will be tested for the alevels so i dont know why they waste their time teaching us such complex out of the box stuff. totally redundant. PLUS it totally kills the confidence of students and kills their drive to study and reinforces students' hate of examinations/tests. remember: common test.

oh goodness, its 2am and im still online looking at pretty dresses and floaty tops. this is becoming an addiction!

anyway, i had the best afternoon ever labeling drink packets, then building a marigold packet pathway for habitat for hope. felt really good chipping into society. then suihui and i spent approx 50 mins queueing for doughnuts at vivo. (useful tip: eat it immediately after purchase while its still hot and the chocolate's still gooey. save it for later and regret) i dont think ill ever do it again, doughnuts aren't really all that great.

met charles for a quick dinner and some shopping. he found the perfect maht polo and picked out several questionable tops and a surprisingly pretty blouse and dress for me. but i couldnt afford either of them so their still sitting on their racks, waiting wishing yearning for a deserving owner.

oh well, off to bed. tonight ill be dreaming off cheery summer dresses, delicate printed blouses, lean bronzed legs and chubby shaved bellies.

im so so excited! i just bought a whole lot of stickers from parkway and they are so cute. i bought hello kitty, spongebob, barney and snoopy. i have no idea what im going to do with them but they were so pretty and cheap i couldnt just walk away from them.

hockey and soccer finals clash. its a real bummer and ive been trying to think of ways and means to attend both. any contributions would be greatly appreciated.

sports seasons are coming to an end and i really think that sports people deserve more credit than they get. it really isnt easy coming home physically and mentally exhausted after trg and still have to will yourself to stay awake and complete as much schoolwork as possible (no offence to all other ccas) so much time and energy is put into training that time becomes a constraint. you start to realise that 24 hours a day simply isnt enough for school, trg, rest, homework and social stuff (of course, including intellectually stimulating activities as part of your daily routine is really important too because im sure being knowledgeable trumps having a life right) sometimes training can be emotionally draining, like on an off form day when insecurity whacks you in the back of your head and nothing you do stops the swelling. all you wanna do is jump into bed and hide under the covers but no, XYZ subject's assignment is due tomorrow.

today i had a break from mad rush life and i realised that i seriously dont know how/what im going to do with my life after hockey. its like hockey has played such a big part in my life the past 17 months, how am i going to fill up the very large void its going to leave. of course, a levels (or as teresa says it eh levels) are approaching but oh my god, i wish itd never come. i hate studying!

my week's revolved around hockey thus far. despite much unhappiness and bitching, i must say that i still love hockey very much and the people even more so.

started training again yesterday and it felt so good to be back on the miniscule astro turf even though i felt really dizzy after our super slack training. i also realised ystd that teresa chong really does make good bus company.

today was a really simple day, if you exclude the fact that its the birthday of VJC's golden girl. started the day late, my heart almost popped out of my chest as i watched 76 pull away from the bus stop and teresa turning round to wave. i was stuck on the curb waiting to cross the road. ended up doing CIP for goh after a very long wait at the stupid guard house. he made jenny(new friend! late twice this term) and i sweep the corridors with a toilet broom. made a complete fool out myself and gave goh a good laugh with my inability to hold a broom. i never knew that people swept with two hands. i swear yati sweeps with just one.

caught up with the sailors after school and i learnt all about purper jelly and how she maked it.

season starts thursday and everyone's excited, we got our jerseys and watched a very motivational team sport movie ystd. but i cant play hockey yet so i cant help but feel very left out and a tad depressed (okay, very) which is why i didn't join the team for trg at ccab. it kinda sucks sitting there and looking out at the great big hockey pitch and not be able to do anything but then again, maybe i should have gone. oh well. time will heal all wounds, i just wish time would pass QUICKER!

alright i think thats more than enough for one entry. ive been too talkative recently. im losing the whole allusive, mysterious appeal.

my parents are both in vietnam!!! us, children are all very very glad.

left my house for the first time last evening since i had my appendix removed for music fest. joleyn walked me into school and i was greeted with a GROUPHUGG from the hockey girls. oh the love!!! after an hour long queue spent playing games involving hand-eye-neck-mouth-bimbo coordination, we got in FIRST and secured the best place in the house. music fest kicked off well with andrea and bird's toilet mtv. i must say that i am very impressed by the hockey boys and their previously unknown talents. maybe now we can all share our balls and exist harmoniously. now now wouldnt that be a dream?

slacked the day away, started up my nano, sprreeeddd, read my econs notes (every subsequent page contradicts the one before) then charles cabbed over to watch little miss sunshine. them we cabbed to his house for his grandma's pork chops, full house and epl. i know it sounds really dumb but curled up on the couch with a literally warm and fuzzy boy is more enjoyable then it sounds.

greetings. i've decided that im too lazy to post the entire tantockseng story so if your interested, ask and i will tell with pleasure. but just so you know, the end of the story is that i survived(im ALIVE! majo) the op and ive 3 little scars on my belly which are healing and i sekretly hope hope WILL disappear.

ive been stuck home and will be stuck home till the 18th of april. just last week i was complaining about how ive no time and wishing that i could add hours to my day and oh my god, i so take back my words. time passes so so so so so so so slowly when your alone at home. and to top it off, ive this horrible extremly 3d rash on my back and chest. it looks like ive pieces of mars on my body. its FFFFFFFugly and doesnt seem to be going away.

hello hello all! thank you thank you thank you very very much for all the LOVE care and concern. i think its been doing more good than the pills the doctors prescribed. an especially big THANK YOU to charles teo cheng chuan for making sure that i had company all the time, tucking me into bed, feeding me water, watching cinderella story with me and basically making the pain a gabillion times better (:

so anyway, for those who want to know what happened, here's the scoop:

day 1: thursday april 5
i woke up with a biting pain in my stomach but i decided to suck it up and go to school since i only had four periods (and cause suihui cant survive w/o me). after assembly, i decided i couldnt tahan the pain any longer and went to see mr seet for an excuse letter to leave school. the moment i stepped out of school, my vomit spree started. cabbed home and waited for dad to come home and take me to the doctor. the doctor gave me an injection to stop the vomitting but after 3 hours, the vommiting didnt stop and i was vommiting foam and green stuff(bile?) practically every ten mins. i dont know how to bullimics do it, vomiting isnt fun. okay back to the story, by then i was feeling a bit wobbly and seeing double so dad rushed me to the hospital, i dont know how but mum turned up. i was put into a wheelchair and hurried into A&E. in the midst of all the hustle, the nurse admitted me as amande lim cui hui. so everyone was calling me mandee mandee and i thought oh god, ive really lost it. A&E waiting room = drama, there were people screaming, moaning, groaning and crying. in the midst of it all, the police were trying to pacify a dishevelled mad man with a bleeding nose and a swollen eye. he was hurling vulgarities at everyone and laughing hysterically and i basically panicked because he was standing so near me. i started breathing really quickly and my body started cramping up. at one point in time, my cheeks were numb and i could barely speak when the the doctor asked me what was wrong. after that, all i remember is the doctor putting her finger into my anus and injecting me.

when i woke, the pain was gone and mum was next to me holding my hand. after a urine test, x rays and a bowl of porridge. they moved me to my ward (8A bed 3) At this point of time, i had received a million messages from concerned individuals and i was feeling really loved and lucky. At around 9pm, the doctors came to examine me and diagnosed me with acute appendicitis and the op was scheduled to be after midnight cause i had eaten the stupid bowl of porridge at 5.

having the operation meant that i would be out of action for a month and miss half the hockey season. hockey training would have gone to waste and i was very very ):

the weekend's finally here and i couldn't be more relieved. im having a lot of trouble settling into the routine of school. first of all, the week started really badly with me leaving my wallet on bus #43 and consequently finding out only because i had to hand over my ezlink card at the guard post because i was late. the next three days saw me running/dashing/brisk walking into school so i wouldnt be late. i wish i could move into the hostel or something.

in addition, my ____'s loneliness is turning her into a psycho monster. first of all, she blamed me for losing my wallet which i cannot totally deny responsibility for but its not as if i did it on purpose or not upset about losing all my stuff. of course she said that i have to pay for and settle the replacement of all my cards and cash on my own and gave me 10$ from my ang pow money (which she keeps locked up in her safe) to last the entire week. mind you, i hardly leave school before dark. then on wednesday, she scolded me for trying to stay up to finish my homework. and yesterday, she tried to force me into playing hard-to-get. every fucking conversation i have with her turns into an interrogation and ultimately an accussation that im going to "turn out just like germaine", hello! just what is so wrong with my sister? having a non-chinese boyfriend and liking alcohol doesnt exactly turn you into the devil. i come home from school and training dead tired to a battle fuelled by tension, the circumstances seriously stinks and i wish ____ would come home once and for all. i know i sound mean, unfilial, ungrateful but i find the countless resolutions made to be nice impossible to keep.

today i realised that my house is infested with mosquitoes and that my shin guards are giving me a very nasty rash. i really need some shelltox, calamal lotion and new guards.

we played the SHF 6-aside ystd and won ourselves some shiny silver trophies. we lost to the jansenites (i still dont know which club their from) by two penalties. im proud of vj hockey (: apparently, we're a strong team.

the holidays have zoomed past and school starts tmr. gee, im kind of still in post o level mode. haha. well, back to jampacked days filled with endless lectures/tutorials/horrible& oily canteen food and hockey(which isnt so bad). i've no idea how im going to survive orientation because suihui and practically all the hockey girls will be occupied by the year 1's and im going to be left all alone ):

so anyway, 2006 was a really odd year, i dont actually really remember doing anything very productive or useful. the best bit was probably joining hockey and toning up and in the process putting on 4 very disgusting and useless kilograms (that i intend to lose in 2007) and being put into the final 20 list for a' div then winning a golden trophy for carrying water/h20 and cheering. didnt feel very right bringing the trophy home because it felt like stolen success but its okay, i know i'll/we'll be carrying home another trophy just like that next year and everyone will be proud because our hard work would have paid off (:

and then of course academically i really have to buck up. esp if i intend to secure a high paying job to meet rich men and live out my tai-tai dreams. really dreading alevels but then again, who looks forward to studying. oh wait, i forgot, im in vjc now.

so, i expect next year to be even more hectic and possibly exciting because turning 18 entitles you to an entire slew of new experiences. and i am hoping that i wont immerse myself in hockey and forget the 11 amazing girls ive spent the last 3 years with.

first and formost, id like to wish all friends and trespassers a very happy christmas!!!

christmas has been busy busy busy!

christmas eve was spent with 4/5 of the family. dad couldnt make it back from vietnam what with his new pharmaceutical shop opening and various other tasks thrown onto him by his one-hell-of-a-scrooge/miser boss. mum was very upset but we had a good time nevertheless. random fact: christmas isnt even a public holiday in vietnam.

christmas afternoon was spent with charles and a "random" couple, followed by dinner at jieyings and void deck hockey. rushed off to delta at 5am the next morning only to find out that the game had to be cancelled because the field was waterlogged. so we went back to jieying's for some tokyo drift VVVRRROOOMMM action.

27th: dinner at wee's was brilliant. walked into wee's room LATE to find the girls dressing up for dinner downstairs.

disclaimer: this is going to be a really narcissist ish post so just bear with me.

i had my hair done today and the lady straightened the parts she kept down and i am in love with straight hair! i didnt even know my hair was THAT long cause it normal falls like outwards instead of down haha. its such a nice change from the usual frizzy, sticky out, fried, split, wavy strands im used too. im dying to straighten my hair but im afraid ill end up with STICK-TO-FACE straight hair.

damn genes.

oh straight locks, if i could hold on to you for just one more moment, I WOULD. but its bedtime and i have to wash off all the hair spray or risk being poisoned by CFC ridden hair spray in my sleep.

im so glad to be home. the previous week passed way too quickly, and now i find myself with only two weeks for catching up, work, shopping and year end celebrations.

i have no idea what possessed me into taking up two jobs (ah yes the lure of money) but i suppose im doing okay. scooping gelato was so difficult at first, i had to weigh every cup to make sure it was the correct serving (wth?) and the job pays only 4.50 an hour but i guess the free gelato/shakes/food/hilarious colleagues more than make up. hamper packing at conrad is well, boooorrriinnggg. no elaboration.

played a game against temasek hall this morning and although we expected to be thrashed, we won, 2-0. jieying is the best forward in the world and i hope ill be able to help her up front.

that wraps up my very boring life. im going to listen to the stack of cds i stole from germ's office and go for penetential at 7pm. i hate thinking about my sins.

i know i really should be packing but whats the use of it if my luggage is gonna be tossed around by the baggage people anyway and everythings gonna get all messed up? ill wait till later. maybe mum will fold my stuff for me when she gets home. ha ha

my attempt to get a budget hair fix ($10 thinning by jieying's nice aunty at a far east place) yesterday had a hmmppppphhh ??? result. i dont know if i made it better or worst. i guess ill give it a week or so to grow out, hopefully it'll be back to normal by then. if not i guess a quick visit to beijing 101 should cure me of my woes

meet up with the girls (the "12" has been abolished, it isnt cool enough) went well. good lunch at new york new york where i spent my last singapore currency cent on a super delish turkey cranberry sandwich followed by A LOT of slacking at gillian's house.

after 2 years. gillian's house is still the same ol same ol gillian's house. the cupboards are filled with good food (now reduced fat {: ), magazines and a new discovery, the OSIM massage chair. pure bliss.

started the day with training, the bus driver drove at top speed so i reached school in a record time of 30 mins. i think ive more or less gotten use to the sun, as long as i slap on some sunblock and remember not to squint, my skin wont burn and i wont get headaches. unfortunately, ive forgetten how to hit. i think i only got in ONE decent hit the entire week. gee. i spent like two weeks working at it and now its all gone. and im completely clueless as to what im not doing right. how very frustrating.

for lunch, we had ban mian at parkway as usual and today is a day to remember because MISS TRACY LEE MING GUI finished her mee hoon kuay. she came up with a strategy, eat the kuay, before the other bits and bobs. GENIUS !

attended the bangkok trip briefing, which is one of the reasons why im all hyped up about the trip, i realised that we'll only have two full days to shop which is quite disappointing. plus, i probably wont be meeting the sailors, so that'll be quite sad. oh and the fact that we'll have to wear a big tshirt with jeans and track shoes, is also (ahem) strange and well, mildly offending esp to andrea but ah WTH, first time out of the country without my parents, how bad can things get ? i swear im going to hunt down the beaded curtains that my dad refused to let me buy last year and i am going to PURCHASE it. HA !

i dont know why im typing so much, its such a long and boring entry and ive yet to cover our little hockey/class outting to the airport. the trip was supposedly made so we could send suyi and limei off on the OCIP trip, but i think everyone was more excited about the fact that we were going to have popeyes at the viewing gallery. it was seriously the most unglamourous dinner ever, seven girls in baggy shirts and fbts sprawled across the floor, legs open, chilli sauce on napkin, fingers covered in chicken fat and oil but enjoyable nonetheless (:

started the weekend with a gym session with the sailors and majo. learnt a million new ab exercises and im hoping i can stick to doing them. suffer now, enjoy long term (:

today was spent watching dvds, the black dahlia and prison break. very lazy and slow day but enjoyable nonetheless. weekend's over, back to everyday trainings which i dont know if im looking forward to. its become all so routine and my progress has sort of come to a stand still, its seriously quite frustrating but suppose i have to perservere.

hello hello.

i decided a new blog address would be good. fishsticks- is a bit well, too cutesy and so secondary school. i tried looking for a template but i guess im in a fussy mood so this will have to do for now.

its been so so long since ive had the entire morning to myself. spent it curled up in bed with the autobiography of hockey legend, alyson annan and dad's old jazz cd.

off to school now to grab my stick and guards and prepare for the match against SAJC later. the seniors beat them in this years semis and finals so im hoping history can and will repeat itself. im feeling quite inspired by alyssa annan so hopefully ill be able to perform today and make some useful runs and perhaps take a few shots at goal.

really looking forward to baking at charlene's house tmr with the 12. if we manage to produce cupcakes like the ones on pearls blog, we might even set up shop. WATCH OUT !
